Bugs and issues you would like to see fixed before 0.11 final release.

Open

  • While paralyzed you can still do some kind of actions, eg reload a weapon. Should be impossible.
  • Quest log is missing all the descriptive text.
  • Helping Mrs Stone pay her tax should be made a quest.
  • Finding/Helping Kevin should be made a quest.
  • Automatic updating of game version number so the in game version string contains the SVN version (like eg ufoai has).
  • Sometimes it's possible to mouse over enemies standing close to the other side of the wall out of sight and get the text display/label of which name and health it has.
  • Edit script for make dist-bzip2 so setting languages to be included in po/ for release is easy. Eg a variable include_translations="de_DE fr_FR ru_RU sv_SE" somewhere.
  • Enemy in takeover game has missing image if the enemy is hidden from you in the world map (eg around a corner).
  • Version string in the savegame of minimum first SVN version used to create save and latest used (possibly all SVN versions ever used to modify the savegame with).
  • Fix Engels first time skill learn message so you say "teach me" with skill point and gold cost visible before those reqs are are checked and confusing messages are left why he didnt teach you.
  • Automap glpointsize not correctly reset after exiting level editor (making automap ugly)

  • Edit script for make dist-bzip2 so HELP_WANTED is included
  • Edit script for make dist-bzip2 so INSTALL.generic is included
  • Level Editor "export edges": On lvl 8, look at warehouse accessdoor label, go 1 level east (lvl 17), no accessdoor label. Now export level edges and go back to lvl 8... voila, accessdoor label vanished.
  • Balance droid extract part drops, what % of which from which bot and value of the parts Fixed good enough for rc1 to go out
  • On Windows XP, the skill information text is reported to be missing. Clicking on the different buttons ends up with the game crashing (possibly only for pressing hacking skill).
  • Is Russian actually working on win & lin? Crashes for me on Ubuntu, but maybe there is a problem with my generated cp1251 locale? New font issue, fixed.
  • Blue & White text for skills.
  • Level Editor: undoing label creation while label displayed causes a segfault
  • On Windows XP, language cant be changed. It does seem to take hints from the OS and set the OS language (but what happens if the translation doesnt exist?) -Solution for now is to disable language switching entirely on windows. Researching how/if it could be implemented is something for the future.
  • It's been reported that the makefile does not care about the DESTDIR= parameter when installing. Supposedly breaks installation scripts in Gentoo to eg /usr/share/games/freedroidrpg/locale -ahuillet (fixed but yet to be verified)
  • CHECK ALL TRANSLATIONS TAKEOVERGAME... too long text -> crash (eg Swedish) -Stedevil fixed by making max lenght 20 instead of 10. Should be enough for all translations.
  • Cost for identify should be shown
  • Screwed up doc quest - Sted
  • Weapons bigger then y4 (ie y5 and y6) are broken in the following way
    They are not visible (transparent) in the bottom left weapon circle
    -Sted solution fixes for 5y weapons, but fixing also for 6y is non trivial.
  • Resizing the few current 6y items to 5y instead.
  • Weapons bigger then y2 (ie y3, y4 y5 and y6) are broken in the following way
    They can be placed in the inventory "backpack" so they overlap Tux with y-squares above the center of the item
  • Weapons of size x4 are placed very weird (in visibly in shield slot, but actually in the normal left)
    Likely reason: The left tip of the weapon image goes outside to the left of the screen -> makes the entire item not be drawn. Solution options: A) Move placement box a little bit so a 4 wide item fits (10-15px?) B) Make only parts outside of the screen not be drawn, but draw the rest.

  • Fix up order of learning extra bot parts with what actually drops first and value for selling. -Stedevil
  • Big kitchen knife and power hammer too big rotation images -Sted BUT... the bigger size images would fit in the window and additionally looks a lot better. So in the future we should consider using the bigger size.
  • Pretty up the char window a bit. -Stedevil
  • Balance new durability loss implementation for weapons (weapons wear when used, armour when hit)

  • Some pre/suff effects doesnt work (eg heating)
  • pre/suff effects allways with proper + and - in front and some better descriptions.
  • Some effects would probably work better as % of base value (eg cooling & regen).
  • Automatic triggering of Cooldown spell if overheated and health would be taken below 1. Needs big mid screen warning text "Automatic Emergency Shutdown due to near fatal overheating" to avoid bug reports.
  • add optional stacksize to game. Especially interesting for weapon ammo. Already added as eg "Items collected together max=12" variable in items
  • Ammo should be bought in stack size quantities? 1 click = 1 "pack/stack".
  • Swedish translation (and any other languages that has roughly 75%+ translated, less the 75% = cut from the release)
  • Currently the 2 skills/programs "Repair item" and "Identify Item" works differently, which is a bit confusing.
    Repair is "right click while above item" with no visual feedback
    Identify is "rightclick to active program" making mousepointewr a "?" and then select item with left click.
    They should behave the same, probably by chaning mousepointer on item mouseover according to selected program and then right click to activate. Possibly other programs could do the same.
  • For all programs display add "next rev" stats eg inside () to help players realize they can get better stats with increased rev.
  • When Char and Skill panels are open, durability warnings for items are not visible. Causing a lot of lost weapons.
  • Sometimes you seem to be able to be hit by bots shooting at you from the other side of the wall. Most easily reproduced on pre r985 Asteroid.maps in the entrance (right next to ladder) on lvl 6 Maintenance tunnels.
  • Drinking water from Ewald in the bar should reduce your collected heat ("Healing" for mana).
  • Unable to equip 2 hand weapon until removing at least 1 manually when holding both weapon and shield. 1 or 2 held items shouldnt matter.
  • Removing items on the ground in the editor seems impossible? Only adding items seems available.
  • Should warehouse, once cleared, really respawn bots? After all you have a quest to clean them out.
